    Miners found traces of Gold whilst mining in Victoria
  • Licence Checks

    Gov. Hotham came into power and made licence checks 2 times a week.
  • Murder

    James Scobie was murdered out the front of the pub/hotel
  • James Bentley Acquitted

    James Bentley, owner of the pub/hotel, was acquitted for the murder of James Scobie
  • Burning Down of Pub

    The miners gathered around the pub for a meeting which resulted in the burning down of the pub.
  • Protest Arrests

    Diggers met to protest the arrests of 3 miners for burning down the pub, the licences and the Ballarat reform league was founded
  • James Bentley Re-arrested

    James Bentley and co were rearrested and convicted for the manslaughter of James Scobie
  • Eureka Flag Raised

    Meeting held and the Eureka Flag raised for the first time plus the licences were burned.
  • Another Meeting

    Met for another burning of licences and Peter Lalor started building the stockade
  • Stockade Started

    early hours of the morning the stockade was attacked by police and the military. 22 miners and 5 soldiers were killed.
  • Treason

    13 miners were held for treason
