    The battle of Britian occurred because Germany wanted to invade Great Britain, but first they needed to destroy their Air Force as Germany was better on land forces rather than air or naval. The British won this battle. This was the first time that the Nazi army was defeated as it was a boost of confidence for the allies that Germany had a weaker air forces. As the Nazi’s retreated, they started to look the other direction for invasion. East; towards their “allies” The Soviet Union

    Battle Of Barbarossa
    Adolf Hitler launched the German army eastward in a massive land invasion of the Soviet Union. Hitler broke the Nazi-Soviet non aggression pact and launched Operation Barbarossa. Hitler viewed the Soviet Union as his natural enemy and if he invaded it, it would gain Germany more power and population. Why? Lebensraum. Though this battle was nerve wrecking for the soviets; winter was an advantage that helped them win this war. The soviets won this battle and the Nazi’s were forced to retreat.

    Operation torch was a plan to invade North Africa, then move up to Sicily and to clear the Mediterranean Sea of Axis shipping and leave it more free for the Allies to use. And so the axis powers couldn’t transport any more weapons or allied help. The Allies planned to invade Morocco and Algeria. Both these countries were collaborating with Nazi Germany. So both North African states were considered to be worthy targets. The allied win another victory and move up to Italy and Germany.

    The allied forces attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France.What made Operation overload successful was that miscalculated where the allies were going to hit.The allied forces had more air forces in which they attacked bridges (which kept the Germans from sending more troops to the beach). The allied forces won the D-Day as this battle. If D-Day was lost by the allied forces, then Nazi Germany would have invaded the rest of France, the rest of Europe and eventually the whole world.

    The Yalta Conference was an important conference in which the leaders of the Big Three met in February 1945 to discuss plans for the end of World War II and the future of the world. At Yalta, the Big Three agreed that after Germany's unconditional surrender, it would be divided into four post-war occupation zones, controlled by U.S., British, French and Soviet military forces. The city of Berlin would also be divided into similar occupation zones.
