The Camera...
I have learned how to use the Canon 7D DSLR camera to take my photos; I learned how to change the ISO to get the correct light levels for my photos and learned how to alter the shutter speed to reduce motion blur and use burst mode in order to capture every change in the movement of the models. -
Motion Blur
Here you can see how I learned how to change shutter speed to make my photos clear and not blurry. The top row of photos were taken when I had a low shutter speed, and therefore are blurry, and the bottom row are from when I increased my shutter speed and therefore made my images clearer and not blurry. -
Editing Software...
In Photoshop, I learned how to use the Spot Removal and Clone Tool in order to remove blemishes on my models, to adhere to the convention that celebrities don't have visual imperfections. I learned how to modify the colour curves on the images (to make the shadows darker and the highlights lighter) and used hue and saturation filters. I also learned how to manipulate text and how to add effects to different layers, including stroke and outer glow, to make them stand out more. -
Spot Removal/Clone Tool
Here you can see a before and after, where I have the original image on the left and the edited image on the right. You can see how I have used the spot removal and clone tool to get rid of visual imperfections, and altered the colour curves to make the image brighter and bolder. -
Developing Skills...
My skills in production work have improved since the start of the course as I have learned how to properly operate the DSLR to get the best images possible before editing. I've also developed my Photoshop skills by being able to edit my images well and create the same features as you would see on real life magazines, and to make it look professional. -
Improvements...
With regards to technology, there are still things I need to improve on as I don't know how to use everything on Photoshop yet; I could learn to use more features in order to make my images and magazine look better.
