    Basketball
Basketball was one of the sports not effected by the war, because of their tall height, it made them ineligible for the military services. Two big organizations of basketball were established in the 1940s, the Basketball Association of America , established in 1946, and the National Basketball League, established in 1949, that went on to make the National Basketball Association. Not only men played this sport though. Women played basketball as well.
