    Maria Eva Duarte, or more commonly referred to as Eva or Evita, was born May 7, 1919, in Los Toldos, Argentina. She was the youngest of four other children. Her father was Juan Duarte and her mother was Juana Ibarguren, though these two never married.

    In 1926, Evita lost her father because he was in a car accident. According to reports, Evita’s mother, Juana, shunned Evita and the rest of the family at the funeral. This family was already struggling financially, the loss of Juan just meant greater hardships.

    Evita was forced to surrender to cervical cancer on July 26, 1952. Her last public appearance was the June of 1952, at her husband's second inauguration. After her death, many people were upset, lots of people adored her at the time.

    Evita's funeral was as fit as the president's funeral would be. They held a ceremony in honor of Evita, and she was put on display. In 1971, her body was exhumed and flown to Spain. People say that Evita will always be remembered.
