The End of the French and Indian War
This was the end of a nine year long war between the French and Spanish versus the English and the colonists for the land in the middle of the country. The English won this in 1763 with the help of William Pitt and taking of Quebec at the Battle of Quebec. The English got the land and greatly expanded their territory. This was caused by an English claim to land in french territory and affected the history of America because of all the land and what the British choose to do with it. -
Proclamation of 1763
This was an act prohibiting the colonists from settling past the Appalachians even though they won all of the land. This lead to colonists unhappiness and direct disobedience from the crown. This was made because of the threat of the Indians after Pontiac's rebellion.
