    Forrest Gump is Born
    Forrest Gump is born to a single mother, Mrs.Gump. Forrest's father had left him and his mother before he was born, so they lived together in a big house that had been in their family for generations. Forrest had been named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, the man who started the notorious group known as the Klu Klux Klan.
  • Forrest Meets Elvis Presley

    Forrest Meets Elvis Presley
    Since Forrest and his mother lived in such a big house, they rented out the unused rooms to civilians passing by. As Forrest had said, that was how his mother made her money, and they had seen all kinds of people. One of the many rentors was none other than Elvis Presley, also known as The King. Forrest had been dancing while Elvis was singing, later inspiring one of Elvis' signature dance moves.

    Even though Forrest had a very low IQ, he was an incredibly fast and agile student, and one day he ran straight through a football game. All of a sudden, he went to college with a football scholarship and played so well that he was able to make it onto the All American team. This gave him the opportunity to go meet President John F. Kennedy, where he famously said he had to use the bathroom during his interview.

    In June of 1963, the University of Alabama allowed its first two African American students to enroll at the school. Alabama's governor, Governor Wallace, was against allowing them at the school, but John F. Kennedy sent down National Guard soldiers to make sure that they were welcomed in. Forrest, who just happened to be there, saw that one of the new students dropped their notebook, and gave it to her.

    John F. Kennedy is Assassinated
    President John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, was assassinated on November 22, 1963. He was riding in a presidential motorcade in Dallas, Texas when he was shot by an unknown assassin. Sadly, he died in Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

    Forrest's Best Friend Bubba Dies in the Vietnam War
    After college, Forrest got drafted into the military where he met his best friend, Bubba. They instantly became very close, and Bubba told Forrest all about his family's shrimping business, and how he wanted to run his business with Forrest by his side. Unfortunately, he dies in an unexpected ambush by Vietnamese soldiers, and Forrest heads home without Bubba.

    Forrest Recieves the Congressional Medal of Honor
    After Forrest comes home from the war, he is celebrated as a hero for saving so many lives. As a result of this, he recieves the Medal of Honor from President Johnson. Although Forrest was viewed as a national hero, many Vietnam veterans had a difficult life after the war and suffered financially.

    Forrest Speaks at a Protest About the War in Vietnam
    After Forrest recieved his medal, he was walking around downtown D.C. when he got sucked into a group of protesters. As Forrest followed these protesters, he realized they were protesting against sending US troops to Vietnam and their leader asked him to speak about the war. While he was speaking, someone unplugged the speaker system, and Forrest's words were unheard.

    Forrest Travels to China for a Table Tennis Team
    While recovering from his wounds in Vietnam, Forrest had learned how to play table tennis from a fellow soldier. Forrest excelled at the game so much that he began playing for the U.S. Army Table Tennis Team, and played table tennis to entertain war veterans. In addition, he even traveled to China to play a tournament and won.

    Forrest and Lt. Dan Experience Hurricane Carmen
    Forrest decided to keep his promise to Bubba and went down to Bayou La Batre to see Bubba's family, and uses $25,000 dollars that he recieved from a fan to start his business. Later, Lt. Dan comes to work with him as he promised that the day that Forrest owned a shrimping business, he would be his first mate. Business turns out to be incredibly slow until Hurricane Carmen hits, and then all they get out of their nets is bucket loads of shrimp, turning their small business into an empire.

    After Jenny left him for the third time, Forrest decided to go on a run. Forrest's run turned into a full blown journey across the entire country, where he inspired thousands of people. He ran back and forth and back and forth, until he finished his jouney.
  • Forrest's Childhood Sweetheart Jenny Dies

    Forrest's Childhood Sweetheart Jenny Dies
    While he is running, Jenny sees Forrest on tv and decides she wants to see him. Jenny contacted Forrest and he came to see her and her son in her new home. Jenny then reveals that she and Forrest had a child, and wants to marry Forrest despite the fact that her illness is rapidly increasing. They live happily for a while in Greenbow, Alabama until Jenny is confined to bed and cannot get up. Finally, Jenny dies of AIDS, leaving Forrest a single father.
