We meet Max and Freak when they are in daycare. -

Chapter 2
Freak moves in with Fair Gwen. -
Chapter 3
Max helps Freak get his ornithopter out of the tree and invites him to the down under. -
Chapter 4
They talk and become friends when Fair Gwen takes Freak home. -
Chapter 5
Fair Gwen invites Max over to apologize and the three have a great time telling robot stories. -
Chapter 6
Max and Freak go to a fireworks show and see Tony D. Max lifts Freak on his shoulders to see the fireworks and he dosen't seem to mind. -
Chapter 7
They have their second encounter with Tony D and he and his gang chase Max and Freak. Freak guides Max into a pond to escape and when they are rescued Freak declares them Freak the Mighty. -
Chapter 8
Freak starts coming over to Max's is the morning so the two can go on quests together. -
Chapter 9
Freak and Max go on a quest to a clinic and Freak tells Max he is going to get a new robot body there. -
Chapter 10
Freak convinces Max to go on a secret mission with him to retrieve a purse from a storm drain. -
Chapter 11
Max and Freak Go and retern the purse to a woman named Loretta Lee. -
Chapter 12
The two of themgot into all the same classes together and at first no one noticed them. But affter lunch a teacher wanted max to tell her agout his summer but he's too shy so the class makes fun of him untill Freak shows them Freak the Mighty. -
Chapter 13
Max gets called to the office and is told that his father, Killer Kane, wants to talk to him. Max says no and leaves. Freak eats too much Chop Suey and can't breath so they take him to a hospital. -
Chapter 14
Max's dad get's out of prison and Grim (Max's Grandpa) wants to get a gun. -
Chapter 15
On Cristmas Eve, as is their tradition, they open one present. Max gets a hand-made dictionary from Freak wich he considers the best gift and the others are side presents. -
Chapter 16
Killer Kane kiddnaps his son Max. -
Chapter 17
He takes Max to an old ladys apartment. Thankfuly she is not there. -
