    England refused to evacuate the frontier forts in the Northwest Territory and seized U.S. ships. The American statesman John Jay went to England to negotiate disagreements between the two governments. The Treaty eliminated British control of western post. US got a limited right to trade in the West Indies. The US also had to pay for damages to British ships.

    It was discovered by Jedediah Smith and Thomas Fitzpatrick. There are many reasons for establishing this trail. At the begging it was used to transport fur from west to east. Later, when Gold Rush occured, many emigrants from East dashed to the west coast, California especially.

The US gained the Hawaii and its islands and used them for their sugar and built naval bases on the islands. The territory is still in U.S. possession.

The war ended with the Treaty of Paris and the US gained control of Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines Islands, Guam, and many more islands. The U.S wanted them to put military bases on them. Only the Philipines are not under U.S control anymore.
