    Post a job listing for a sports dietitian and post internship opportunities. Specifically advertise for internships at OU HSC for dietetic studients.
  • Begin food research

    Research companies with the best quality food for the best prices.
    Process may last an entire month.
  • Choose food supplier

    Choose food supplier and finalize pricing.
  • Rent a commercial office space

    Office space must have a kitchen and place to prep food
  • Hire Sports Dietitan and Interns

    Hire one sports dietitan and 4 interns
  • Create logo

    Create logo that will appear are the fuel packs, signage, and nutritional handouts.
  • Orientation with the dietitian and nutrition staff

    Orientation will last 3 days. Days will be used to educate staff on intervention goals, objectives, and guidlines.
  • Order supplies

    Kitchen supplies: Pots, pans, cookie sheets, etc.
    Office supplies: colored paper, standard paper, ink, etc.
  • Order "Fuel Packs"

    Order bags that will contain the meals. Bags will be reuseable. This will allow us to save money, inseatd of buying many plastic bags. The logo will be on the bag.
  • Create surveys

    The nutrition team will make the surveys:
    -Pre and post intervention survey
    -surveys to accompany each meal
    -data sheets for collection from physical performance tests
  • Create nutritional handouts

    Nutritional handouts should be easy to read, colorful, and filled with easy to understand sport related information. Handouts need to be interesting and captivating so that athletes will read them. Ex. using a famous athlete example.
  • Create waivers and forms

    Create waivers and forms of consent fo athletes, coaches, staff, etc.
  • Coaching staff orientation

    Orientation will educate coaches, staff, and anyone else who is involved with the team of the goals, objectives, and guidlines of the intervention. Orientation will over the weekend.
  • Print off all paperwork/handouts

    Print out all waivers, consent forms, nutritional handouts, surveys, etc.
  • Team/coaching staff/nutrition team meeting

    Meet with the athletes, educate them on the intervention that will begin in the off season and through the entire upcoming season. Pass out pre-intervention survey have them take the survey and collect data.
  • Obtain all signed consent forms no later than the end of school

    Obtain all signed waivers before athletes leave for summer break.
  • Create menus

    This a time for the nutrition team to work on recipes, food prep, and to trouble shoot the kitchen. This will last throughout the summer.
  • Create a Fuel Pack website.

    Create a team nutrition website. On this website menus, food selection, and nutrition needs of an athlete will be listed. This online system will allow the dietitian to input the athletes needs, and then they will be able to choose the meal they wish to eat that fulfills their nutritonal needs. This process will last through June.
  • Upload all menus, food choices etc onto website.

    Upload all menus, food choices, and athlete information into the website.
  • Send athletes their private login user names to website

    Send athletes their log in information so that they can check the website out before they use it in the fall.
  • Begin setting dates for athlete's consultation with the dietitian

    Begin scheduling athlete's appointments for consultation with the dietitian.
  • Prepare all educational components

    Prepare all educational components that need to be addressed in orientation and during meetings with the athletes. This will be a week long process.
  • Place food order for the upcoming season

    Place food order for the pre and post game meals. Order in advance and plan future deliveries.
  • Athletes report back to campus

    Athletes begin workouts with the Strength and conditioning coach. Pre-season physical assessments, weight, height, body composition, speed, strength are assesed and recorded.
  • Athlete's physcial examination results are given to the dietitan

    The dietitian receives the physcial testing data computes each athletes optimal nutrition needs.
  • Individual meetings with the dietitian

    Individual appointments with the dietitian. Each athlete will meet with the dietitian to discuss their nutritional needs assessment. This process will last about a week to get through all of the athletes.
  • Team orientation

    Team orientation: Hand out the nutritional hand out, food preferences surveys, and begin first education session. Food is Fuel, Hydration importance, etc.

    Explains pre and post meet needs and requirements.
    Meetings will occur through out the week of Jan 12-16th.
  • Team orientation #2

    -Explain the Pre and Post-game meal plan.
    -Direct them to the website to choose meals 2 days prior to game day
    -Explain how surveys will be attached to each meal
    -Pass out another Pre-intervention Survey
  • Season Begins!!

    Once season begins Pre- and post game meals will be provided to the athletes. Surveys will be attached to each.
  • Season ends
