    James Stuart Blackton was the first animation artist and the founder of vitagraph studios. I also happen to share his birthday of january 5th. Game Art and animation go hand in hand, essentially game art is animation. Blackton was the first person to put his moving pictures on a screen, a critical step towards video games and game art.

    Pablo Picasso
    Picasso was another very famous artist, most well known for his abstract art and also his blue period art. Picasso contributed a great deal to the art world and game artists can learn a lot from Picasso's work. The use of color and movement alone should be inspiring to any game artist.

    The great depression was a worldwide economic crash. Starting with the stock market crash on October 29th 1929, It effected pretty much the entire world throughout the 1930's. It was the worst and most widespread depression the world had ever seen even today and definetly influenced society as a whole.

There were other reasons for the propaganda as well depending on the country but it was mainly to manipulate people into feeling some way.

    Miyamoto is the creator of Super Mario a long with many other iconic video game stars such as Donkey Kong. Miyamoto broke the norms of video games and created legendary heros that will be known for generations.

    John Carmack (1970-Present) is one of the most successful video game creators of all time. Carmack is a well known programmer and designer who has created or had a hand in creating dozens of games including DOOM and Quake.

    Allan Alcorn is the designer of one the first arcade video games ever, "Pong". Alcorn was employed by Atari inc. and Pong was released in 1972.

    One of the most well known video games, Donkey Kong started an entire genre of video games. Starring two of the most famous video game charactors, Donkey Kong and Mario (originally Jumpman) were born in 1981. Countless games and titles would be made and are still being made all originating from this game, Making Miyamoto one of the most successful game designers in history.
