This simple game simulates the table tennis sports game, which features two-dimensional graphics. This game requires two users and the aim of this game for each of the players is to defeat the opponent by earning the highest school. The game ends after a certain amount of points have been gained by the better player.

    Asteroids is one of the more popular arcade games of its time, released by Atari Inc, and involves movement through space. The gamer would control a spaceship in a field of asteroids and flying saucers, which the player would attempt to shoot down. The more saucers and asteroids that are shot down, the harder it becomes for the player and the game will only end when the player collides into any of the objects on the screen.

    The Game Boy is an 8-bit hand held entertainments device, developed by Nintendo and was one of the earlier products. It is the first handheld console in the Game Boy line and contains interchangeable cartridges. The features for the Game Boy are very simple and contains a small number of buttons to chose from. An extremely popular game, released on this console is Tetris, which requires simple hand movement from the player.

During it's time period, it was released as a family, entertainment device, which would connect to a TV and require a controller. This console focuses more on a shareable experience for players instead of them going solo, which is now popular on later consoles. One of the biggest releases on this was Pac-Man, which is still such a big game to date.

Features include a digital control pad, analog stick and the four main buttons. God of War is a prime example of a successful game, which has been released on this console. Rivalries of the PSP include the Nintendo products such as the later Nintendo Wii U

    Released by Microsoft, the Xbox 360 is an entertainment console and successor to the original Xbox. The Xbox Live feature, which the platform posses is the main reason for its success in gaming history. This Xbox graphically overpowers its rivals, making it a much more successful platform, comparing to other consoles such as the Wii and PlayStation 3. The Grand Theft Auto series are very successful games, which have been released on this console.

    Similar to the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 3 was made by Sony computer entertainment and successor to the PlayStation 2. It shares rivalries with Microsoft's Xbox 360, which was released a year before, but is a very popular gaming platform. A game franchise that has been successful for this console is Assassins Creed, which has been divided into a huge number of individual games.

    The Nintendo Wii console is one of the most popular entertainment consoles since it's release.This platform made a significant difference to gaming due to it being one of the first platforms to rely heavily on movement within a game. The Wii detects and sign of interaction towards the console, made by the player and takes this into affect to determine the gameplay. Wii Sports is one of the best-selling games for the Wii because it requires the user to act as though they are in that scene.

    The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld entertainment platform and is one of the many versions of the DS. Adapted to the original DS, the 3DS includes a vast amount of new and improved features such as 3D cameras, the ability to download and play games, originally released on older Nintendo platforms and a social networking service. Theses new features that the 3DS posses are the main motive to why this console is so popular for gaming.

    The Nintendo Wii U is one of the later entertainment platforms, released by Nintendo and differs from most Nintendo models in the sense that it involves an extreme amount of interaction with the user. A successful game on this console is Mario Kart 8, which requires the whole platform to act as a steering wheel. The reasoning for this being so popular is the ability for the Wii U to transform into a number of different remotes.

    Developed by Sony, the PlayStation 4 is an entertainments platform, which competes highly with the likes of the Xbox One and Wii U. When comparing older Sony models, this platform is the most popular and most successful due to it's dramatically improved graphics and memory. This console focuses more on the gameplay experience and includes many features, allowing multiple players to play with each other. Games extremely popular with this platform are the Grand Theft Auto series.

    The Xbox One is one of the latest consoles that Microsoft has created and has grown in success due to the features it provides it's players. It has become a huge competitor to most gaming platforms such as Sony's PlayStation 4 and digital medias like Apple TV because it is an 'all in-one entertainment system'. Many games have become successful since being released on the Xbox. Some of these games, significant to gaming history include the Call of Duty franchise.
