  • Creation of Headright system 1618

    The Headright system was a system in which Georgia granted land to settlers. The land was usually between 50 acres for a settler, which highly gave happiness to all colonists.

  • UGA Created in 1785

    UGA is Georgia's first college university and also the first in the US, while North Carolina also rivals with that statement. The impact this college had on Georgia was huge because it boosted the education of Georgia.
  • Louisville GA 1786

    Louisville was created in 1786 to be the state capital from 1796-1806 in GA. The capital gave a huge amount of population to be stayed at, and is still a popular place today.
  • Cotton Gin 1793

    The cotton gin is a machine that picked seeds out of cotton. The machine was created in 1793 and wasn't used until 1804. This impacted to U.S. majorly, increasing slave count by millions in all states, tons more cotton every year, and much more money made from exports.
  • Land lotteries 1821

    The first land lottery was in 1821. Land lotteries were made to give lucky winners a set of land around any amount of acres. This impacted Georgia because ANYONE could get land. Including blacks, slaves, single women, etc.
  • Railroads 1829

    In 1829 a group of business men needed a way of fast travel for food, crops, water, etc. So they invented the railroad! The railroad was used then all over the world, even today!
  • Native Removal Impact 1838

    In 1838-1839 the Natives were pushed out of their lands by Georgia colonists. Georgia is what it is today because of this event, as many Native colonies to be pushed out for land.
  • Trail of tears 1838-1839

    After the Native removal, the Natives were starving and dying. The search for a new home, and dying on the way, was known as the Trail of Tears.
