Hitler defies the Treaty of Versailles

In March 1935, Germany violated the Treaty of Versailles by introducing military conscription. In March 1936 Germany Violated the Treaty reoccupying the demilitarized zone in the Rhineland.

in the mid-1930s, the first step was the treaty signed by Germany and Italy in October 1936. Hitler reached an agreement that became known as the Rome-Berlin Axis. A month later Germany made an agreement with Japan. Germany, Italy, and Japan came to be called the Axis Powers.
