Dust Bowl Begins
The Dust Bowl was a monstrous dust storm. This eventually affected the soil where the farmers worked. Leading to extended drought, loss of millions of top soil; by 1930 the rains stop the best soil is completely gone with the wind. -
Depression Worsens
Food riots begin to break out because people had no jobs or money and were starving, so they would break into groceries stores and steal the food. The Star-Spangled Banner is adopted as the U.S National Anthem. -
The New Deal
Franklin D. Roosevelt is elected president and creates a New Deal which helped Americans find new jobs and it helped create a ton of new acts helping financial relief, farmers, employment, and so much more. -
The First New Deal Begins
The "First One Hundred Days" of Roosevelt's presidency begins. Over 15 new laws are quickly enacted to fight the Great Depression. Roosevelt calls for a "bank holiday" where all banks are closed. -

The Works Progress Administration is established. It will employ 8 million workers over the next several years building things like roads, bridges, and airports. -
