The first major event that we read, was when the guards have their first encounter with the dead king of Denmark (Hamlet’s dad). They ended up informing Hamlet about their encounter. So he ended up standing guard with them one night, and at the same time as the previous night right on que. After the shock wore off Hamlet and his father went into the woods, his father then told him how his death was a murder, and how it was his brother that had killed him. -

Next we found out of the “chemistry” between Hamlet and Ophelia. We then find out, after Hamlet’s encounter with his dad that he has changed. This is proven when Ophelia runs to her father crying saying that Hamlet hasn’t been responding to her letters. -

The next thing that we find out in the book is how the dead king's brother ends up taking the throne, he also ends up marrying his wife.
