    The two boys end up driving Mr. Weasley's Ford Angela into the Whomping Willow

  • The Chamber of Secrets is re-opened

    In the Chamber, Harry destroys the spirit-form of Voldemort (and unknowingly, the first of his horcruxes) by stabbing a basilisk fang into Tom Riddle's diary

  • Harry meets Sirius Black

    "Scabbers" reveals himself as Peter Pettigrew and the true criminal for the crime Sirius Black was put in Azkaba. Sirius Black remains Harry's father's best friend and is Harry's godfather. Harry discovers that Lupin was also a friend of James' and is a werewolf.

  • Harry, Ron, and Hermione begin their fourth year at Hogwarts

  • The Goblet of Fire chooses its champions

    For whatever reason, Harry (both underrage and from an already represented school) is called as a champion of the Goblet of Fire for the Triwizard Tournament

  • The First Task

    All competitors are required to try and retrieve a golden egg from the nest of a dragon (type of dragon determined by the drawing of a figurine from a bag)

  • The Second Task

    Competitors may use the egg from the first task to find what they are going to be doing ahead of time- encountering mermaids to retrieve what has been lost- their friends/family members. Harry disrupts this by staying until Viktor comes to rescue Hermione and Cedric comes for Cho before leaving with Ron and Fleur's little sister Danielle.

  • The Third Task

    The challenge is a maze, at the center fo which is the Triwizard Cup. The Cup has been made into a Portkey, which transports Harry and Cedric to a grave several miles away. While Cedric is killed, Harry's blood is used to revitalize Voldemort. Harry and Voldemort fight until Harry is able to grab Cedric's body and the Portkey, taking the two back to Hogwarts.

  • Dementors attack Harry and Dudley

    As a result of using magic in front of a Muggle, Harry is contacted by the Ministry of Magic, who attempt to expel him from Hogwarts

  • Harry's hearing at the Ministry of Magic

    Dumbledore finds that the appointment is an hour earlier than originally scheduled and is able to alert Harry, who is found to be innocent as the magic he used was in order to protect Dudley and himself.

  • Harry starts his fifth year at Hogwarts

  • Dumbledore's Army is founded

    A group of students band together in order to counter Umbridge's regime and work on true DADA magic

  • Circa this date- Dumbledore's Army is discovered

    Marietta Edgecombe tells Umbridge about Dumbeldore's Army and Dumbledore takes the fall for the group's actions, leaving before Ministry officials can forcibly remove him from office.

  • Circa this date- The Battle of the Deaprtment of Mysteries

    A battle is fought between members of the D.A., a group of Death Eaters, and members of the Order of the Phoenix. Sirius Black is killed. When Voldemort himself arrives and battles Dumbledore in the Atrium, The Minister of Magic is forced to admit that Voldemort has indeed returned. Dumbledore returns to Hogwarts and reveals to Harry the contents of Trelawney's first prophecy.

  • Harry starts his sixth year at Hogwarts

  • Harry learns of Voldemort's horcruxes

    As a result of Slughorn handing over a crucial memory of his in which Slughorn tells Tom Riddle (later Lord Voldemort) how to create horcruxes.

  • Circa this date- Dumbledore and Harry go to find one of Voldemort's horcruxes

    While Dumbledore is away, Hogwarts is invaded by Death Eaters. When Dumbledore and Harry return, they are greeted by the group and Dumbledore is killed. The horcrux he and Harry retrieved turns out to be fake. Dumbledore's funeral is held a few days to a week later.

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is first published in the UK

  • The Battle of the Seven Potters

    The Order moves Harry to the Burrow from the Dursleys in attempt to avoid contat with the Death Eaters. In the process Mad-Eye Moody is killed and George Weasley loses an ear

  • Fleur Delacour and Bill Weasley get married

    The wedding is broken up by a Death Eater attack and Harry, Ron, and Hermione are forced to start their journey.

  • Ron leaves Harry and Hermione

  • Harry and Hermione visit Godric's Hollow

  • Circa this date- Ron returns and destroys true locket horcrux

  • Harry, Ron, and Hermione go to visit Xenophilius Lovegood

    While at the Lovegoods, Hermione shares the story of the three brothers (which reveals the truth of the Deathly Hallows) and Xenophilius calls the attention of a group of Death Eaters to the trio's presence.

  • Circa this date-Malfoy Manor and Death Of Dobby

    Snatchers find and kidnap the trio after Lord Voldemort's name is used. The three are taken to the Malfoy Manor where Hermione is tortured and Harry and Ron are taken to a dungeon, where they find Luna. Dobby comes and is able to rescue everyone, but dies as a result of a knife that Bellatrix Lestrange three at him as he was "disapparating" with the trio.

  • Circa this date-Battle of Hogwarts

    The remaining Horcruxes are destroyed, either by accident or purposefully. Harry gives himself up to die (thus destroying the horcrux Voldemort placed inside him) and kills Voldemort, ending his evil reign and the attack on Hogwarts. Several people, both good and evil, die.
