Unexpected dementor attack
The dementors committed an unauthorized attack on Harry and his muggle cousin, Dudley. The abrupt attack nearly killed them. In order to survive the assault he had to produce a charm. This resulted in him being expelled from Hogwarts due to performing magic in the presence of a muggle. -
Travelling to number 12 Grimmauld Place
A group of wizards and witches Harry knew, curiously showed up at his home. He was aware of the reason why, however he did not hesitate to travel with them to their destination. They flew on their brooms to a location called number 12 Grimmauld Place. This was a very peculiar place for the reason that it could not be seen by the naked eye. It was under strong enchantments to keep unwanted people away. -
Discovering the Order of the Phoenix
Shortly after his arrival he learned that the house was actually the headquarters of an organization called the order of the phoenix. This was a secret organization formed by Albus Dumbledore to resist lord Voldemort. Harry was informed that his parents used to be members of the order. -
Learning About the Black Family.
Harry´s godfather, Sirius, was a member of the black family. He showed Harry his family tree and told him dark stories about his family. He explains to Harry how he was banished from the family and went to live with his bestfriend´s family. In fact Harry´s father, James. -
The Ministries Disregard of Lord Voldemort
At the headquarters Harry was also informed about how the ministry was totally oblivious to the return of Lord Voldemort. The minister for magic at the time, Cornelius Fudge, denied that Lord Voldemort had returned because he was frightened by him. -
Hearing at the Ministry of Magic
He was compelled to participate in a court hearing regarding his illicit use of magic. The headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, supported Harry and advocated for his innocence. The jury voted over the matter and the majority voted for not guilty. Consequently the decision about expulsion was reversed. -
Dolores Umbridge
When Harry and the other students arrive at Hogwarts they are introduced to a new teacher named Dolores Umbridge. Umbridge is appointed as their new defence against the dark arts teacher. Her teaching methods exclusively involves books. This upsets Harry and the other students. They are under the impression that practicing spells is a necessity to protect themselves from the imminent threat that is Lord Voldemort and his followers. -
Detention
Harry and Umbridge immediately had an argument where he openly let her know that he disapproved of her methods. He said that everyone needed knowledge on how to defend themselves against Lord Voldemort. Umbridge, being a ministry employee and friend of Fudge also denied Voldemorts return. She gave him detention where he had to write "I must not tell lies" several times. It was a magical pen which made what he wrote on the paper appear on his hand. This gave him scars. -
Dumbledore´s Army
Harry, Hermione and Ron invited their friends to a meeting at a bar in Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade is a village situated very close to Hogwarts. They proposed an idea to establish an organization where they could practice spells. Harry was suggested to be the teacher. Their friends where unconvinced if Harry was suitable for the job. They were later convinced when Harry told them how he had fought Lord Voldemort himself. -
The Attack on Arthur Weasley
One night Harry had a vision about Arthur Weasley being attacked by Lord Voldemort´s snake. He went to Dumbledore to notify him that Arthur Weasley was in terrible danger. His vision turned about to be correct and Arthur Weasley was rescued. -
Occlumency
Severus Snape tried to teach Harry occlumency. He desperately needed no master this in order to not let Lord Voldemort manipulate his mind. After many hours of learning Harry was exhausted and wanted to finish the class. Snape continued to invade his mind and Harry was upset. He casted the spell back at Snape giving him insight to Snape´s mind. He saw that Snape was actually bullied by Harry´s father when they attended Hogwarts. -
The Great Breakout from Azkaban
Lord Voldemort Orchestrated a massive breakout from the high security prison, Azkaban. Azkaban was previously a recognized as the world´s best prison. It was widely regarded as escape-proof. However Lord Voldemort had the power needed to free ten deatheaters including Sirius´cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange. -
Harry´s Vision Concerning Sirius
Harry has a vision where he sees Sirius being tortured by Lord Voldemort at the dept. of mysteries. He is frantic to rescue Sirius. He and Hermione attempt to travel to the dept. of mysteries, however they are caught by Umbridge. In order to evade Umbridge´s questions they tell her that they can show her Dumbledore´s "secret weapon". She believes them and they lure her in to the forbidden forrest. A pack of centaurs intercept them in the forbidden forrest and kidnap Umbridge. -
The Dept. of Mysteries
Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Ginny and neville travel only to discover that Sirius is not present. Harry´s mind had been manipulated by Lord Voldemort. Neville sees a prophecy with Harry´s name written on it. On the way out they are ambushed by deatheaters searching for the prophecy. The deatheaters include Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange. Harry refuses to give up the prophecy and a battle commences. The order of the phoenix arrives to aid Harry and his friends. -
The Arrival of Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort
Bellatrix Lestrange ends up killing Sirius. This infuriates Harry. He chases her in to the hallway. He has her pinned down but Lord Voldemort arrives. Luckily for Harry, Dumbledore arrives just few seconds later. Lord Voldemort and Dumbledore have a great battle. Ministry officials arrive shortly before Lord Voldemort leaves. The minister, Cornelius Fudge, has no choice but to acknowledge Lord Voldemort´s return.
