    Christopher Columbus

    Italian who sailed for Spain. Columbus believed to have sailed to china, but he landed in San Salvador. Columbus was then banned from the New World due to being cruel to his people in the new world.

    Alonso Alvarez Pineda

    First European to map Texas.

    Hernan Cortes

    Conquistador who landed what is now called Mexico. Cortes`when he first arrived there were Aztecs with a place called Tenochtitlan. The Aztecs mistook him for a god called Montezuma, Cortes used that advantage to make them sacrifice and for him to later on recieved the resources.

    Francisco Vaquez de coronado

    A place called Cibola supposably a place made out of gold. coronado was sent if the myth was true, when he explored Coronado looke at a distance and beleived it was gold. He went to report for everyone to travel, when they arrive it turned out to be a an Adobe village.

    Alvar Nunez cabeza de Vaca

    Cabeza De Vaca shipwrecked trying to get to New Spain. They decide to rebuiled a boat and keep going. Later on another shipwreck dow in Texas. He called it the Malhado ( mis fortune) he decides to explore the place and ends up metting the karankawa's.
  • La Salle

    French, sailed all the way from canada down to the Missippi river, to the Golf of Mexico. He named that place Louisianna. In !685 he landed in Texas. The tried building a fort, but faild and was killed by his men.

  • San Antonio

    San Antonio was founded in 1718. San Antonio marks an infamous 1836 battle for Texan independence from Mexico. San Antonio was given its name in 1691 by a feast going in, but was considered founded in 1718 when the first presido waas built.
  • Cry of Delores

    An event that is considered the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence.
  • Batle of Medina

    A Mexican War of Independence against Spanish authority in Mexico.
  • Adams-Onis Treaty

    A treaty between Spain and the U.S. It was also known as the Transcontinental treaty. Spain gave the U.S florida, and U.S promised not to touch Texas.

  • Treaty of Cordoba

    The Treaty of Córdoba is the first document in which Spanish and Mexican officials accept the liberty of what will become the First Mexican Empire. This Treaty was a key to our independence.
