  • Cambrian Period

    Cambrian Period
The cambrian period was 570-500 MYA and had an ambundance of marine animals (Ocean creatures) all life was in the oceans.
  • Ordovivcian Period

    Ordovivcian Period
The Ordovician Period last almost 45 million years, it began 488 MYA and ended 443 MYA. The area north of the tropics was all ocean and the land was in the south. All the living creatures were still in the water.
  • Silurian Period

    Silurian Period
The silurian period was 443-416 MYA . In this time period glaciers were starting to melt and the sea levels raised majporly. Animals were evolving in the ocean during this period in time
  • Devonian Period

    Devonian Period
The Devonian Period mainly consisted of small plants for most of the period. By the end of the Devonian Period ferns, horsetails, and seed plants also showed up creating the first forests. Two major animal groups colonized the land. The first one was the tetrapods and the other was terrestrial arthropods. It was 419-358 MYA
  • Carboniferous Period

    Carboniferous Period
The Carboniferoud Period lasted from about 395-299 MYA. There were large abundances of coal during this time period. There was a decrease of insects and lycopods.
  • Permian Period

    Permian Period
The Permian Period was 298-252 MYA. During this time period the Earth was dominated by a super-continent known as Pangea. The global Ocean surrounding Pangea was known as Panthalassa. There was mostly only marine life during this period in time.
  • Triassic Period

    Triassic Period
The Triassic Period was roughly 250-200 MYA. Therapsids and Archosaurs were the main life during this period in time. In the late Triassic period dinosaurs started to show up but did not become a dominant species until the Jurassic Time Period.
  • Jurassic Period

    Jurassic Period
The Jurrasic Period was 201-145 MYA. During this time period dinosaurs (large lizards) dominated Pangea. There was a lot of marine life and plant life.
  • Cretaceous Period

    Cretaceous Period
The Cretaceous Period was about 145-66 MYA. In this time period the world was hit with a giant meteor causing all life to go extinct.
  • Tertiary Period

    Tertiary Period
The Tertiary Period was 66-2.58 MYA. The remaining dinosaurs went extinct. These dinosaurs were the non-avian dinosaurs. The climate was slowly cooling down.
  • Quaternary Period

    Quaternary Period
This period isthe present day period and it began 2.5 MYA. This time period is where all seven continents were placed and life started to flourish. The marine life again evolved out of the ocean and then Homosapiens were created (AKA Humans).
