    Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children (PARC) v. Commonwealth of Pennslyvania
    Children with disabilities were not allowed to attend public schools instead their families had to pay for private schools. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted access to public education to all children. This case helped children in all states because the Department of Education made it a federal law that all students have access to public education. It also helped created a national special education law.

  • Mills v. Board of Education of the District of Columbia

    Mills v. Board of Education of the District of Columbia
    The District of Columbia wasn't providing education to students with disabilities because it was too costly. Mills prove the children's constitutional rights were not being followed. It was ruled that educational services are given based on students' needs not the schools' finances.

  • Honig v. Doe

    Honig v. Doe
    Students were denied the chance to return to school after getting in trouble because their disabilities caused them to be violent and they disrupted the education of others. The ruling was if student's behavior is caused by their disability they have the right to receive public education. This cased paved the way for students with disabilities to not be discriminated against due to their behaviors.
