    The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson and adopted by the Second Continental Congress, states the reasons the British colonies of North America sought independence in July of 1776.
  • Attack on Fort Sumter

    Attack on Fort Sumter
    On April 12, 1861, General P.G.T. Beauregard, in command of the Confederate forces around Charleston Harbor, fired at the Union garrison holding Fort Sumter. At 2:30pm on April 13 Major Robert Anderson, garrison commander, surrendered the fort and was evacuated the next day.

    13th Ammendment Abolish Slavery
    December 6, 1865, the 13th amendment abolished slavery in the United States and provides that "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States,or any place subject to their jurisdiction.".

    Rosa Parks Bus Boycot
    On December 5, 1955, Rosa Parks, an African-American woman, refused to yield her seat to a white man on a Montgomery bus. She was arrested and fined. The boycott of public buses by blacks in Montgomery began on the day of Parks' court hearing and lasted 381 days.
  • September 11 Attacks

    September 11 Attacks
    On september 11 of 2001 the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaed highjacked 4 airplaines. The first 2 flew into the twin towers killing about 2,500 in the colapsing buildings. Menwhile another plane hijacked by the Islamic terrorists was being flown into the pentagon. The fourth plane crashed in a pennsylvania.
