Though Prime Minister for only three weeks in 1939, Earle Page was deputy Prime Minister for 6 years from 1923 to 1929. He was born on the 8th of August 1880 and died at the age of 81 on the 20th of December 1961.

    Robert Menzies was the 15th Prime Minister of Australia. The first time he was Prime Minister was from the 26th of April 1939 to the 29th of August 1941. He was born on the 20th of December 1894. Robert died on the 15th of May 1978 when he was 83 years old.
  • Arthur Fadden

    Arthur Fadden was the 16th Prime Minster of Australia. Arthur Fadden was Prime Minister from 29 August to 7 October 1941. As well as his ‘40 days and 40 nights’ in office, he was acting Prime Minister for periods totalling nearly two years during his coalition governments with Prime Minister Robert Menzies. He was born on the 13th of April 1894. Arthur died when he was 79 years old on the 21st of April 1973.

    John Curtin was Australia's 17th Prime Minister of Australia and is widely regarded as one of the greatest Prime Ministers we've had. He was in office from the 7th of October 1941 to the 5th of July 1945. He was born on the 8th of January 1885 and died at the age of 60 years old on the 5th of July 1945. John Curtin died just 6 weeks before the end of world war 2 in the Pacific.

    Francis Forde was the 18th Prime Minister of Australia. Francis Forde was Prime Minister for only eight days, 6–13 July 1945, after the death of John Curtin. With unswerving loyalty to his party and its leadership, Forde was a federal parliamentarian for 24 years. For 14 years he was deputy leader of the federal parliamentary Labor Party, and for nine of those years was deputy Leader of the Opposition. He was born on the 18th of July 1890 and died on the 28th of January 1983 aged 92.

    Harold Holt was the 21st Prime Minister of Australia. Harold Holt was Prime Minister from the 26th of January 1966 to the 19th of December 1967, when he was officially announced dead after drowning at sea. He was born on the 5th of August 1908 and died when he was 59 years old after drowning at sea on the 17th of December 1967.

    John McEwen was Prime Minister from 19 December 1967 to 10 January 1968 following the death of Harold Holt. His term as Prime Minister came near the end of his 37 years in parliament. Though only briefly Prime Minister, McEwen served as deputy Prime Minister for twelve years, in the governments of Robert Menzies, Harold Holt and John Gorton. He was acting Prime Minister many times in the years from 1958 to 1971. He was born on the 29th of March 1900 and died aged 80 on the 20th of November 1980.

He was elected Liberal Party leader to replace Harood Holt, who had dissapeared the previous month while swimming off the Victorian coast and presumed dead. John Gorton was born on the 9th of September 1911 and died when he was 90 years old on the 19th of May 2002,
