  • Z4

    Z4
The first commercial computer is completed and sold by Konrad Zuse. Zuse along with a team of over two-hundred developed this computer which, though similar to previous models such as the Z3 was an upgrade in many aspects. The Z4 is the first digital modern programable computer used in business.

  • UNIVAC

    UNIVAC
The UNIVAC is one of the first commercially successful computer. It is also the first general use computer. This computer was designed by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly. The machine used magnetic tape for its input of information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_computing_1950%E2%80%931979#1950s
  • IAS Machine

    IAS Machine
The IAS Machine is considered the first electronic, binary computer. It stored two 20-bit instructions in each word, which was a great development in computers. Completed at the Institute for Advanced Study by Von Neumann alongside others. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IAS_machine
  • Magnetic Core Memory

    Magnetic Core Memory
The Magnetic Core memory was the prominent type of random-access memory (RAM). This type of memory is called core memory, or simply core, and uses toroids as transformer cores. It was used for the better part of two decades.

  • FORTRAN (FORmula TRANslation)

    FORTRAN (FORmula TRANslation)
FROTRAN is designed and developed by John Backus and his team for the American Tech company IBM. The purpose for FORTRAN was to create a practical method to assembly language programming. This invention made computer programing more widely accessible and made programing much easier.
