    Plessy Vs. Ferguson
    Plessy v. Ferguson was a constitutional law of the Supreme Court in 1896. This rule created segregation laws for public places to be separate, but equal. Both African American and white children got an education, but they weren't in the same buildings and weren't necessarily learning the same materials.
  • Free Public School

    Free Public School
    The Free Public School movement gave all children the right to have an education in an elementary school, which gave them the opportunity to be educated until they completed at least an elementary level. The laws required mandatory school attendance for children in elementary school. With this law, students were able to receive a free education.
  • Brown Vs. Board of Education

    Brown Vs. Board of Education
    Brown vs. Board of Education was a court ruling case in which the court declared that the state laws creating separate public schools for black and white students was unconstitutional. This outlawed segregation in the schools. Before this ruling, there were different races of children who were getting an education, but it wasn't necessarily in a safe environment for the children to learn in- the children of color had school in the old, dirty buildings that white people didn't want to be in.

    The No Child Left Behind Act was established in 2002 and is the most recent update to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. This increased federal funding for education and ushered in standardized based testing.

The teachers are able provide students with the tools they need to help them succeed in the 21st century. With more access to technology, it can help students be more successful. It has helped because students are able to adapt to the changing world of technology and be successful. They can learn the skills they need to succeed in today's world.
