Common Schools Most important # 1
Only larger towns in New England were required to build a school, otherwise schools were not free or public. People got together and hired a teacher, where each parent had to pay a fee, and had their kids go to school. I think this is important becuase we as students today take advantage of school and education, where they parents had to work for their childrens education. link: http://www.disabilitymuseum.org/dhm/edu/essay.html?id=42

No Child Left Behind Act # 5
    Most important # 5
This act helps the students not be left behind. Student will be tested yearly in different subjects. This helps us know where the students stand in education, and what extra help they need. NCLB also helps promote social justice in eduation where attention can be focused on the underperforming student often from poorer families. I think this law is very impotant to us as teachers so we can help all of our students succeed. http://www.k12.wa.us/esea/NCLB.aspx
