    In 1698 there was the first public library created, this was established in Charles Town, South Carolina. The library was created before hand but in 1698 the government decided to actually taken it over in order to protect it.

    The English High School of Boston, Massachusetts is one of the very first public High Schools in the United States. This school was modeled after a school in Scotland. In the beginning it only allowed boys to go to school there. However, there was a separate school for girls created in 1824.

    Abigail Adams Eliot with the help of Mrs. Henry Greanleaf Pearson established Ruggles Street Nusery School in Roxbury, MA. It late is renamed Eliot-Pearson Childran's School and becomes big in early childhood education.
