It is named after its inventor, Leon Theremin, who invented the device in 1928. The high pitch sound you hear in the Trap Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys was actually created by the Theremin. -

Pierre Schaeffer's work with musique concrete was important as He was the first to develop the concept and include any and all sounds into music. -

The Les Paulverizer.
The first loop pedal was invented by a guitarist and inventor of record and live music technology called les paul in 1953.He did a demonstration of this live looping using this early loop pedal On the TV show Omnibus in 1953 at he called it the les Paulverizer. This Inventions is so important to the history of music technology as he was probably the first person to formulate the idea of looping of course none of this technology was Commercially used and released at this point in time. -
The Doctor Who theme tune
The Doctor Who theme tune Composed by Ron Grainer in 1963. It was one of the first electronic music tunes used for TV.The Doctor Who theme tune had a lot of music concrete that most of it it was music concrete,I've added this to the timeline as it's important due to the global coverage it had and how many people listened to this piece of music using this certain type of technique. -
Philomel
philomel, composed in 1964, combines synthesizer with both live and recorded soprano voice. It is Milton Babbitt’s best-known work and was planned as a piece for performance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, its very strange but is a good example of Electroacoustic music

The Moog
In 1964 Robert Moog Entered a modular synthesizer called the Moog for the first few years the Moon was only used by experimental musicians, but during the years more and more mainstream popular bands were using it like The Beatles. In 1967 then became the first commercial synthesizer. Robert Moog changed history when he invented the Moog without this invention music would sound very different. -
Felix Vissers modified rhythm box
Felix Visser, a dutch pop band drummer, modified one of the electronic rhythm box-drum machines, which was to play simple pre-programmed rhythms, so that it could be played as a live instrument. This is important because this was the first idea Surrounding an electronic drum. -
The Beatles Abbey Road
The Beatles definitely wasn't the first band to use a synthesizer in an album but the Beatles is one of my favorite bands so I wanted to talk about them. in one of the Beatles' most recognizable albums Abbey Road, The Moog can be heard in some of the tracks like Maxwell's silver hammer and I want you ( she's so heavy). -
The Pollard Syndrum
The pollard syndrum was the first commercial electronic drum it was released in 1976.
The pollard syndrum was released by pollard industries and consists of an electric sound generator and one or more drum pads. This is important as it meant that consumers can now use this to make music at home. -
Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus
manufactured by Roland Corporation from 1979 to 1980 The vocoder shapes its envelope and filters by any sound source fed into it, This creates a very unique and famous robot-like sound. -
The 80s synth pop
I've put the 80s synth pop genre on this timeline as I think it is vital to the the history of the electronic drum I believe that correlation with the timing of the Invention of the electronic drum the 80s made it more popular as the more electronic cinthie pop was becoming a popular 80s genre and this made the want or the need for electronic drums increase . -

Written by Maurice White and Wayne Vaughn, and produced by White.Musically, "Let's Groove" is a post-disco, pop and funk song which includes instrumentation of synthesizers and keyboards along with live electric guitars.The song was a commercial success, and was the band's highest-charting single in various territories. -
Commodore launched the C64
When Commodore launched the C64 is when home computer music making really got going. It was notable for its SID sound chip, which enabled users to create music using a whopping three channels of synthesis. In fact, the distinctive SID sound is still popular today. This added to the timeline as it kick started computer music making. -
The initial release of the TB 303 bassline
The TB-303 was Initially Going to be an Electrical alternative to the bass guitar. Roland made the bass line producer in the hope it would sell to bands you can't afford to hire a bass player. The 303 could create a record and playback a pattern that is used for a baseline. When the 303 first came out it did not do well .And manufacturing of it's stopped 2 years after it came out . The only reason for this is that it was hard to play and took the time to learn . -
The popularization of the TB 303 in the late 80s
TB- 303 became popular when the dance music culture started to surface. I put this on the timeline as it is a big comfy contribution to dance music . became a foundational instrument for various forms of new genres in the '80s and '90s, perhaps most notably acid house.

Akai S1000
Akai S1000 was released 1988 Its abilities to splice, crossfade and loop sound in 16-bit CD quality made it popular among producers in the late 80s through to the mid 90s.
the sound of hip-hop and dance music would once again be completely transformed. It also quantise and swing, which allowed the machine to correct human error and align the rhythm pattern to a grid, i have added this to the time line as it completely changed music after the 80s -
Steinberg releases Cubase
Cubase is a software that made its name. The first version introduced the concept of the 'arrange page' with its vertical list of tracks and horizontal timeline - a design that quickly became the standard interface for all commercially developed sequencers. This is the earliest version of something like logic without this we wouldn't have software like logic today. -
The first commercial loop pedal
The Paradis LOOP Delay, was the first commercially used and sold loop pedal. this is imoprtant to this time line as before the sale of the paradis loop delay, loops still couldn’t be done without tapes or expensive modifications. -

ed sheeran is known to use a looping pedal in most of hislive performaces. -
Logic X pro and Logic 10.5
Logic is a Software with digital audio workstation (DAW) and MIDI sequencer applications. Logic is the software that i use for music making, Released on July 16, 2013. logic 10.5 was released in May 2020. It features Live Loops, Sampler, Quick Sampler, Remix FX, new drag-and-drop workflows, Drum Synth, and Step Sequencer. I think this is important to add to the timeline as it's a good representation of what computer music making and general music making is like now.
