History of the Atom Timline

  • Democritus

All matter consists of visible particles ;carring atoms . These atoms are industructivble , solid but but invisible ; they are homogenous. In 400's he found this out because he thought all things concluded tiny invisble industructivble particles called "Atoms" AKA Atomic Theory.

    Dalton
Elements are tiny particles (Atoms) , All atoms of an elemnt are identical .All the atoms make up the element have the same . Mass Compounds arent easliy seorated from one another .They have their own weight .He also Proposed an "atomic theory" with spherical solid atoms based upon measurable properties of mass. How did he figure this out ....Well, he calculated weights and came up with his theory around the year 1803

    Thomson
Used a CRT to experimentally determine the charge to mass ratio (e/m) of an electron =1.759 x 10 8 coulombs/gra during 1897. By doing this he dicoverd a model structure , he understood the electrrons had a negative charge and matter must have a ppostive charge. "J.J. Thomson." The-History-of-the-Atom -. N.p., n.d.
