  • J.C.R Licklider creates network structures

    He created a world-wide computer network so computer terminals could be connected to eachother allowing anyone to access the terminal, but they had to have authorization to do so.

  • Linking two computer togeather for the first time.

    The TX-2 and -32 computer ( From Lincoln Labs) were the first computer to directly communicate to eachother.

  • ARPA Starts

    Larry Roberts is put in charge of the ARPA project. This was good for the project because there was one main leader and not just everybody just putting thier own ideas into the project.

  • First email sent

    Ray Tomlinson developed email in the 1970's. The first email that was sent was very important because it made talking and sharing stuff easier.

  • Birth of eBooks

    Its goal is to make books and documents avalible free.

  • TCP/IP

    The goal was to make networks togeather and make a "inter-network." It would have no central control.

  • MUD

    MUD was one of the first multiplayer games created on the internet. It was a game based on text-based virtual worlds that combine the elements of role-playing games.

    The first web page created in 1991 was to explain what the world wide web was.

    It was the first graphical web browser created for the public.

    SSL made it safe to make purchases from websites like eBay and Amazon

    Google started in 1998 as a search engine

    Increased Bandwidth changed the way we use the internet. And has increased the speed of the internet.

  • Google & Yahoo

    Google and Yahoo are the two best search engines on the internet today. They are so updated it would almost be impossible to not find the information you are looking for

  • Increased users of the internet

    Since 2000 there has been increased users of the internet. It has become so easy to aquire that places like asia had over 500,000,000 users gained since 2000.
