This actually occured 3,900,000,000 to 2,500,000,000 years ago after the late heavy bombardment occured. The first lifeforms that resembled Prokaryotes were alive. They are called Chemautotrophs which used Carbon Dioxide and inorganic materials to substitute for glucose like later cells would use. -
