Stephen Gary Wozniak is born in San Jose, California
Wozniak was the son of an engineer at Lockheed Martin and was fascinated by electronics at an early age. Although he was never a star student in the traditional sense, Wozniak had an aptitude for building working electronics from scratch. -
Wozniak and Berkley
Wozniak enters the University of California, Berkeley, but drops out after one year to pursue his passion for electronics. During his brief stint at the University of California at Berkeley, Wozniak met Steve Jobs, who was still in high school, through a mutual friend. -
Cream Soda Computer
Wozniak designs his first computer, the "Cream Soda Computer," which he demonstrated to his friend, Steve Jobs. Wozniak and Fernandez began work on the project in the garage of Fernandez' father. Wozniak obtained 20 sample TTL chips from a Tenet executive while Homestead classmate Bill Werner tried to help obtain other parts. The computer was named after the Cragmont Cream Soda that they purchased from the local Safeway and consumed during the project. -
Apple Computer, Inc. and Apple I
Wozniak co-founds Apple Computer, Inc. (now Apple Inc.) with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne, and develops the Apple I computer. After Apple was founded, Wozniak created the Apple I, a design built largely in Jobs' bedroom and garage. With Wozniak's knowledge of electronics and Jobs' marketing skills, the two were well-suited to do business together. -
Apple II
Apple II, designed primarily by Wozniak, is released, becoming one of the first highly successful mass-produced personal computers. Wozniak conceives the Apple II as part of the company's personal-computer series. -
Plane Crash
Wozniak is injured in a plane crash and takes a leave of absence from Apple to recover. Wozniak is injured when the private plane he is piloting crashes while taking off from the Santa Cruz Sky Park. His painstaking recovery lasted two years, as he suffered from a variety of injuries and amnesia. -
Wozniak parts ways with Apple
Wozniak leaves Apple officially but remains as an honorary employee and receives a salary for his contribution. Wozniak re-enrolles at UC Berkeley to complete his Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences degree that he started there in 1971. -
Creation of Wheels of Zeus( CL 9)
Wozniak founds CL 9, later renamed to Wheels of Zeus (WoZ), a company dedicated to developing wireless GPS technology. Which develops and brings the first programmable universal remote control to market in 1987, called the "CORE". -

Wozniak publishes his autobiography, "iWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon: How I Invented the Personal Computer, Co-Founded Apple, and Had Fun Doing It". -
Wozniak founded Acquicor Technology
In 2006, Wheels of Zeus was closed, and Wozniak creates Acquicor Technology, a holding company for acquiring technology companies and developing them, with Apple alumni Hancock and Amelio. -
Creation of Woz U
Wozniak co-founds Woz U, an online education platform focused on technology and computer science education. As of December 2018, Woz U was licensed as a school with the Arizona state board. -
Hoover Medal
Wozniak receives the Hoover Medal for his outstanding contribution to the field of engineering. Wozniak is awarded the 66th Hoover Medal from IEEE President & CEO J. Roberto de Marca. -
Entering the Blockchain
Wozniak launches his own cryptocurrency token called "WOZX". Wozniak announces the launch of a new company helmed by him, Efforce. Efforce is described as a marketplace for funding ecologically friendly projects. It used a WOZX cryptocurrency token for funding and blockchain to redistribute the profit to token holders and businesses engaged on the platform. -
The Lawsuit
Wozniak files a lawsuit against YouTube for allowing Bitcoin giveaway scams using his name and likeness. Wozniak and 17 alleged fraud victims sue YouTube and its parent company Google over the videos the tech giant allegedly failed to take down. Such videos, they claimed, defrauded YouTube users out of millions of dollars, while Google and YouTube “unapologetically” hosted and promoted them for profit. -
Privateer Space
Wozniak was also starting a company alongside co-founder Alex Fielding named Privateer Space to address the problem of space debris.[73][74] Privateer Space debuted the first version of its space traffic monitoring software on March 1, 2022.
