1989 High School Graduation
In May of 1989 I graduated from high school and began college at UF to pursue nursing. -
1993 Graduate from UCF with a BS in Sociology
After transfering out of UF to attend UCF I changed my major from nursing to "something" that ended up being Sociology because it was my quickest way out. -
1997 Began teaching with Volusia County Schools.
After many jobs between 1993 and 1997, I decided to settle down and try my hand at teaching. I landed a teaching position at the middle school level in the social sciences area. I found out that I loved it!

2000 Begin pursuing my Master's degree in Educational Leadership
In 2000, after being recommended and encouraged, I began the Master's in Educational Leadership at UCF with the intention of becoming an assitant principal one day. -
2002 Graduated from UCF with a MEd and Life changed forever.
My life did not change because of the degree but because of impending parenthood and the decision to take an extended leave of absence. -
2003 Parenthood and the BIG move
In 2003, I had my first son and took a year away from teaching. In 2004, we decided to move to Montana, where I taught for three years. -
2007 Back to Florida teaching
In 2007, with two children, we moved back to Florida and I picked up teaching right where I left off and began pursuing leadership opportunities again. -
2010 Moved to Elementary School
In 2010, I was advised to gain experiences at other levels in education so I moved to the elementary level and loved this also. -
2012 Moved in leadership with Volusia Online Learning
In 2012, I was offered a Teacher On Assignment position with the up and coming Volusia Online Learning. In this position I brought blended learning opportunities to teachers in the district and assisted in the growth of part-time and full-time virtual opportunities in the district.

2014 Promoted to Assistant Principal with McInnis Elementary
In 2014, I was afforded the opportunity to gain much needed school based leadership experiences as the AP for an elementary school. I didn't know it then but this experience allowed me to have the position I have today. -
2015 Begin EdD program at UCF
While being an AP, my supervisor encouraged me to pursue my doctoral degree. I began UCF (again) in 2015 with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. -
2016 Promoted to Coordinator of Volusia Online Learning
After only a year and a half as AP, I was offered the position of Coordinator of Volusia Online Learning. At this point I changed the focus of my doctoral degree to eLearning.
