  • Charles Townshend

    Charles Townschend is credited for the invention of the 4 field crop rotation. This is when every year you grow something different. This invention was important because growing the same crops on the same ground every year caused it to become hard, and farmers would have to not farm a year or two here and there. This invention allowed them to switch the crops up and still be able to plant every year.
  • John Kay

    John Kay invented the flying shuttle. It was an improvement to loomes that allowed weavers to weave faster. It let a single weaver produce a wide piece of cloth. It sped things up which made it such an important invention.
  • James Hargreaves

    James Hargreaves invented the spinning jenny. It was basically a spinning wheel with multiple spools. It helped reduce the amount of work that was needed to make yarn.
  • Richard Arkwright

    Richard Arkwright invent the spinning frame. This invention produced stronger threads for yarn. It was first known as the water frame because his first models were powered by waterwheels.
  • Samuel Crompton

    Samuel Crompton invented the spinning mule. It combined the moving carriage of the spinning jenny with the rolers of the water frame. This gave the spinner great control over the weaving process which allowed many different types of yarn to be produced.
  • Eli Whitney

    Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. It was a machine that quickly and easily separated cotton fibers from their seeds. It helped a lot, because it made it a much quicker process which meant the more they could produce and sell.
  • Robert Fulton

    Rovert Fulton is credited for inventing the steam boat. Even though he himself didn't actually invent it, he put the idea together. This invention made it easier to transport goods and it made travel faster.
  • Henry Bessemer

    Henry Bessemer invented the Bessemer Process. It was for stealmaking. It was process for mass-producing steal for lower costs. This invention helped new and better buildings be built like skyscrapers.
  • Gottlieb Daimler

    Gottlieb Daimler invented the gas engine. This engine would run on gas and would power cars and lead to the first motorcycle invention.
  • Rudolf Diesel

    Rudolf Diesel invented the diesel fueled engine. It was an internal combustion engine that burns on heavy oil.
  • Wright Brothers

    The Wright Brothers, Wilbur and Oliver, invented and flew the first airplane. This was huge because now people and things could be transported faster through the air.
  • Henry Ford

    Henry Ford invented the assembly line for automobile manufacturing. It was a line of free-moving vehicles that didn't need horses to pull it. It would help make things faster.
