One way I've looked at this is that Little Jane Doe's mother is actually an older Little Jane Doe looking down at her daughter and thinking back to those times where she experienced what her daughter is experiencing right now. This concept is called Nostalgia, and it influences the way we think about things as they were when we were younger.

In conclusion, this ad follows Little Jane Doe explaining to her mom that she knows how to think and dream, thus she is capable of many amazing things. I think it is a beautiful ad, shown as a girl impressing her mother with her skills and filling the audience with nostalgia for the Lego brand as we remember what it was like back then and how far it has come.
