The Electric Iron
The electric iron was invented by Henry W. Seeley, a New York Inventor, Before remodel the first Iron weighed about 15 pounds and took a very long time to heat up. -
Thermostat
The thermostat was invented by Warren S. Johnson in 1883. Early technologies included mercury thermometers; with electrodes inserted directly through the glass, so that when a certain temperature was reached the contacts would be closed by the mercury. -
Solar Panel/Cell
Charles Fritts was the inventor of the solar cell. He coated the semiconductor material, selenium with a thin layer of gold; resulting in a form of electric efficiency. -
Dishwasher
Josephine Cochran invented the Dishwasher. The first dishwasher was designed, built and placed in Cochran’s house. Up until people became impressed by her invention and her friends, hotels and even restaurants began to buy them from her. -
Coca-Cola
John Pemberton invented the soda drink Coca Cola. An author on http://www.worldofcoca-cola.com writes, “The first servings of Coca‑Cola were sold for 5 cents per glass. During the first year, sales averaged a modest nine servings per day in Atlanta. Today, daily servings of Coca‑Cola beverages are estimated at 1.9 billion globally.” -
Contact Lenses
Contact lenses were invented by a few people their names were Adolf E. Fick, Eugène Kalt and August Muller. The first contact lenses were manufactured from glass and fitted to cover the entire eye. -
Ceiling Fan
The inventor of the ceiling fan was Philip Diehl. He had engineered the electric motor used in the first electrically powered Singer sewing machines, and he adapted that motor for use in a ceiling fan. -
Ballpoint Pen
John Loud is the inventor of the Ballpoint pen. He invented it because he was trying to invent a pen in which you could write on leather. He soon found that you could write on paper etc. and the invention went from there. -
Smoke Detector
The smoke detector was invented by Francis Robbins Upton and the build was assisted. Upton decided to invent this mechanism to create awareness and help people to be safer in the event of a fire. The alarm would sound when signs of smoke showed giving people the ability to get away from the fire safely. -
Zipper
The zipper was created to make the closing and opening of things much easier. The zipper was first made of fasteners; however, it soon was improved to a design with interlocking Teeth. -
Radio
Nikola Tesla invented the radio. Nikola used the radio waves to control a robot-boat in a pond in madison square garden. His “robot” discoveries led to many great science improvements. -
Vacuum
The vacuum was invented in England by Hubert Booth. The product was originally demonstrated in a restaurant where it successfully cleaned up the dirt and dust. -
Disposable Razor
The first disposable razor blade was invented by King C. Gillette. Apparently, by the end of his second year in business; Gillette had produced 90,000 razors and 12,400,000 blades and the disposable razor was a huge success. -
Air Conditioner
Willis Carrier is the inventor of the air conditioner. He invented this to “beat the heat” as they say. He wanted a device to regulate the temperature based on how he felt. -
Electric Hearing Aid
The electric hearing aid was invented by Miller Reese Hutchison. The design used a carbon transmitter, so that it could be portable. -
Helicopter
Paul Conru invented the Helicopter. It was made to travel faster and get to important places in sufficient amounts of time. -
Pryex Glass
Pyrex Glass was actually invented by both Eugene Sullivan and his wife. The glass is actually used for railroad signals. However, they designed it as a “baking pan” to withstand extremely high temperatures.
