Robert Fulton invented the steamnoat in 1807 along the Deleware River. This invention allowed for transportation across waterways throughout the country such as the Erie Canal. It is still being used today but not as much becuase now boats can run off of gas. -
New Jersey Railroad
John Stevens established the New Jersey railroad in 1815. This allowed for goods to be transported more easily over a short amount of time. It is still in use today. -
Erie Canal
The Erie Canal was proposed by Governor Dewitt Clinton in 1817 to open up a water way from Lake Erie to the Hudson River. THis allowed for products from the east to be transported west of the Appalacian Mountains. It is still used today but is used mostly by recreational watercraft and not commercial. -

Invented by Samuel Morse in 1830. It was invented in Baltimore, Maryland. It alowed people to interact with one another over a long distance. It was used by the military also. It is not being used today we have phones and email to replace it. -

Cyrus McCormick invented the Mechanical Reaper in 1831. It was invented in Virginia. This made farming crops easier for farmers everywhere across the U.S. It is not being used today and is replaced with large machines. -
Steel Plow
The steel plow was invented by John Deere in 1837. It was invented in Middle West America. The steel plow had a signiicant effect on American society because now farmers in the west could plow easier because the plow made of wood in the east would keep breaking. This was becuase the soil was different in the two regions. It is not used today and now machines can do the same thing ten times faster over a massive distance. -

The morse code was invented by Samuel Morse. It was invented in 1840. It was invented in America. I was used in household on radios and on war ships using light. It is rarley used today just used by military if anything. -

Chalres Goodyear invented vulcanized rubber. It was invented in 1844 when he obtained the patent for it. It was invented in Springfield Massachusetts. This invention made the way tires are used on almost every car in America. It is still being used today.
