  • Music Man

    Music Man
When we were kids we used to sing as a family. My dad would record us on a reel to reel tape.
  • My Classic Connection

    My Classic Connection
Teenage years are here! There is so much music defining me and now I can buy my own albums!
  • The Radio Shall Set Me Free

The Radio Shall Set Me Free
One of the best gifts I ever received was a portable radio. That was back when there was only AM radio. I thought it was the bwst gift ever because it was small and I could take it anywhere. There is no way anything could replace it!
  • And The Beat Goes On

    And The Beat Goes On
The times they are a changing! My ever lasting love of music continues on! Now we can listen to it in our cars on our 8 track tape players!
  • What Happened to My 8 Tracks

What Happened to My 8 Tracks
Someone sat on the 8 track tapes and they turned into cassettes. The best thing about having cassette tapes was being able to record my favorite albums and listen to them in my car. Everyone could bring them along and we could share the music!
  • What Happened to My Cassette

    What Happened to My Cassette
I never thought cassettes would go away, but then CDS came along. I think it might have been because of the changes with computers. The cds have a better sound quality to them. I think one negative about the cds was the carrying case you needed to take them along with you. It sure made road trips great!
  • Revolutionizing Road Trips

    Revolutionizing Road Trips
One of the best things to come along were the personal disc players! Each of my kids had one and when we were on road trips they could listen to their own music. My kids got along great and I loved road trips!
  • Poetry and Changes In Music

    Poetry and Changes In Music
I used to do an activity I did in my classes that had to do with poetry. The students had to walk around with conversation cards. One of the comments asked how many cds the student had. I never thought that would be obsolete because what else could come along? Now kids had IPods so they didn't need CDs because they could go on to the ITunes gift store and purchase their music.
  • A Whole New World

    A Whole New World
One of the best changes in music and audio is ITunes. I have been able to download books that I am reading in my language arts classes. I can play it for my classes and I to listen to. There is so much available out there for us to use. I can only imagine what will still come out!
  • What More Can Change?

    What More Can Change?
The only thing we can count on is change. I thought once Ipods came along that would be it, but now you can purchase apps like Apple Music and Spotify. Kids have access to everything they need right at their fingertips. It impacts me as a teacher because I need to be on top of it and when I share music I can use what they do.
