    He was sent to a camp in Vermont and refused to ride his horse after he was thrown off. He was then punished for being defiant. His punishment was having to clean the leaves and sticks out of the lake. He opened his eyes hoping to see the rest of the underwater world, but instead he saw nothing past his hands for the water was to muddy. He wanted to linger beneath the surface for as long as possible taking deep breaths.

    The Cousteau's move back to France and Jacques buys a new camera which he then used to take photos of couples and of nature. He made his first full length movie when he was 14 years old.

    Jacques joins the French Navy. He became the gunnery officer. He then uses his camera to record everything he saw from the South Pacific to Japan. He edited his footage for him and his friends to view.

    Tailliez, Jacques, and Didi were all members of the French Navy and they would all push themselves to the limits while diving. They became known as the Undersea Research Group. Jacques became their leader making better and more efficient technology.

    The Calypso was a 140-foot-long ferry boat. It was renovated into a research vessel. It had an observation deck and an observation chamber downstairs. Their life at sea became a reality.

    After being diagnosed with cancer Simone spent months in the cabin inside the Calypso. She then died in December.

    In 1996, the beloved Calypso sinks in Singapore Harbor. Jacques moved back into an apartment in Paris. This did not stop him though. He still dived into his late eighty's. He even went to Antarctica to collect specific natural resources and minerals.

    Three Interesting facts about Jacques Cousteau
    The first fact is that Jacques Cousteau had his first major expedition on November 24, 1951. He started his journey in Toulan and ended in the Red Sea where he studied the coral.
    The second fact is that Jacques Cousteau went on twenty-seven major expeditions through out his life.
    The third fact is that Jacques was expelled from school by conducting an "experiment" on the school windows with different sized rocks. He was then sent to a strict military academy where he became a dedicated student.
