1723-1801, he lived a long, wealthy, happy life. -
Appointed to be the Secretary of State by Thomas Jefferson.
Because of Jefferson's huge influence with the Federalist papers, he was elected the President. Jefferson appointed Madison as his Secretary of State. -

After countless nominations, he was finally elected the President of the United States. -

Once he annexed Florida, he had control over the Gulf of Mexico. -

After many years of economic restrictions on trade because of Great Britain, war was immenent. Know as the war of 1812 helped the still developing country. -

Known as the Treaty of Ghent, ended the war of 1812 completely. -

As the last of the founding fathers to die, he was burried at the Madison Family Cemetery.
