The Battle of Dan-no-ura was a five year naval battle bettween the Minamoto and the Taira. The Minamoto won this battle. During this Battle of Dan-no-ura the Samuri class rose to power. -

The Mongol invasions lasted from 1274 to 1281, it used up almost all of Japan's state funds causing the economy to fall.

Divine Wind
On August 14, 1281 a typhon hit Hakata Bay. During this time Mongols were invading Japan. About 100,000 Mongols were killed in this typhon. The typhon pretty much stopped the invasion. Japanese Shinto priests claimed this storm was from a god and called it the Divine Wind. -

Ashikaga Shogunate
Ashikaga shogunate rose to power in 1336 and remained in power til 1375. Ashikaga shogunate is a samuri goverment ruled by the Ashikaga family. The Ashikagas held goverment authority with the imperial goverment. -
War with China
In 1894 Japan went to war with China. Japan won this war in 1895. Japan had about 5,000 people wounded or killed while China had about 35,000 people wounded or killed. -

Japan declares war on Germany. Japan joins Britain and their allies. Japan is now involed in World War 1. (Could not find actual day) -
Pearl Harbor
Japan on December seventh, 1941 bombs an American naval base in Honolulu, Hawaii. -
Hiroshima Gets Bombed
On August 6th, 1945 the city of Hiroshima was bomded by the US. The bomb killed about 80,000 people on impact. -
Nagasaki gets bombed
Roughly three days after a bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, a second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. This bomb killed about 100,000 people. This bombed was also dropped by the US.
