D-Day was when the Allies landed on the beaches of France and began the offensive against Nazi Germany. Four beaches were targeted by the Allies. Omaha beach was one of the beaches that had the most casualties of the four landings. -
United Nations Created
Unted States led the charge for the establishment of the UN. The hope was that this organization was to succeed where the League of Nations had failed. 50 delagates from 50 delagates met in San Fransisco to write the charter for the UN.
