    in 1607, 102 men and children came to North America to start a settlement. They named in Jamestown, in honor of their king, James I. This settlement was the first permanent one in North America. The reason they chose this location was because Jamestown had a lot of water around it, which allowed them to use their ships, because the water was deep enough. They constructed a large fort with strong walls and lots of artillery. This event is important because it marks the first settlement in N.A.

This was important because it gave the Puritans a chance to expand their religion to other parts of the world.

    Great Plague occurred in London, England from 1665 to 1666. The deaths first began right outside of London. Over the summer, the death rate rose tremendously. In September, over 7,000 people died in just one week! The plague came from the fleas that would attach themselves to rats. Most people of London evacuated when the disease got out of hand. In the end, London had lost over 100,000 people to this disease. This was important because it was a disaster that killed 15% of London's population.

    on September 2, 1666, a huge fire broke out in London,England. The fire started in the King's baker's house near the London Bridge. The fire spread very quickly, and warehouses filled with explosive and flammable substances went up in flames. The fire lasted 4 days, being extinguished on September 6th. This fire took a total of 16 lives. This is an important event because this disaster destroyed 80% of the city of London. It was one of the most disastrous events to occur in London.
