  • The Name Polkinghorne

    The Name Polkinghorne
I chose this philosopher for my timeline because I thought the name to be interesting. It is spelled differently from its original form of Polkenhoern which is a locational name from an estate in the parish of Gwinear, Cornwall, England, UK. In Old Cornish "Pol" is a pool or pond and the personal name Kenhoern translates into the words hound+iron. I wondered if hound-iron is something like a weathercock, hence the icon for this event. https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Polkinghorne
