    The Lotus-Eaters is based, which is based on the Homers Odyssey, happened during . This is when Odysseus' men because mesmerized by the land they were on because of the lotus pants they were fed. The men who ate the plant were so overcome by the taste of the plats they had to be chained to the ship they were dragged too. If they weren't dragged back to the ship, they would've never got back to work.

    The Trojan War, which was the war between the Greeks and the city of Troy that started in 1250 BCE and lasted ten years. This war started because of the abduction of Helen, wife of Menelaus, by Paris (Trojan Prince). Menelaus demanded Helens return which the Trojans refused, leading to Menelaus persuading his brothers to lead an army against Troy.

    The suiters were over 100 men who appeared in the home of Penelope and Telemachus (Odysseus' wife and son) while Odysseus was gone. After believing Odysseus was dead, the suitors fought for the hand of Penelope. Throughout the story the overthrow Telemachus along with taking over the house. They run crazy through the house eating all the food, killing plants etc. Eventually Odysseus returns to the nonsense and and reveals himself; there was his loyal wife who waited on him.

Circe had the ability to turn humans into different animals, in Odysseus' story she turned some of his men into pigs. Odysseus denies this magic with Hermes help. After Hermes help, Circe invites them into her home where she bathes them, feed them, and invites him (Odysseus) into her bed while also resisting the spell she casted on his men.     Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag which held all of the bad winds and weather that would greet them on their trip if opened. Aeolus stirs a westerly wind as a guide for Odysseus and his men on their trip to Ithaca. Within ten days of their trip, Odysseus' men opened the bag of winds thinking it was gold which turned to really bad for them. This proves to us as readers that Odysseus was not as obeyed as he should have been which is a have problem and could later lead to disaster.

    Sirens known as very beautiful women sit in their meadows and wait for ships amongst rotting bodies. The story of the sirens starts with Circle telling Odysseus and his men to fit their ears with wax so they dont hear the irritable songs that attract and lead men to their doom. The sirens die if sailors escape their songs...and after Odysseus' ship passed successfully, the sirens drowned themselves.

While looking for a cave, Odysseus and his men found one in which they proceeded to eat and drink what they found before being greeted by Polyphemus, one of the Cyclops. After killing and eating four of Odysseus' men, Polyphemus freed them...

    Helios, who is also the sun god, was angry when he asked Zeus to get back at Odysseus by punishing him for killing his cattle. After agreeing...Zeus sent out a storm when Odysseus and his men were sea killing all except Odysseus (surviving barley by holding a piece of wood). By being the only one able to survive, he showed capability. He showed his ability stand out in the crowd and hold his own grounds apart from whatever situation he's in.

    Scylla, the 12 ft. tall six headed female monster swallows a sailor when passing for each one of its heads. Charybdis on the other hand, a gigantic whirlpool that threatens to swallow sailors entire ship. As instructed, Odysseus hold his course tight when passing the mountains of Charybdis. When Odysseus ordered them to pass Charybdis they couldn't avoid Scylla which led to the death of six of Odysseus' men.

    Odysseus deciding to go past Scylla knowing he was going to lose six of me men shows he had leadership and the potential of being a great leader. He succeeded with mindset of; you lose some you win some...this proves that he was a great leader with a understanding and controlled mindset.
