    Joseph Stalin was born on December 18, 1879, in Gori, Georgia a country south of Russia. His father Besarion Jughashvili, who worked as a cobbler, and his mother Ketevan Geladze, was a washerwomen. During his younger years he was considered to be a frail fragile child, he was diagnosed with smallpox leaving noticeable marks on his face. Few years after the smallpox he was in a horrible wagon accident leaving his left arm partially disabled. (Biography.com Editors).

Mainly started because most Russians were loosing faith in there leader Nicholas II. Russia now was far behind in everything, Germany was so advanced in industrialization.   • Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

    The massacre began when a group of non-violent protesters started a riot. The 13th happened to be one of the largest religious festivals "Baisakhi". When Army soldiers, commanded by Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer began shooting at unarmed, innocent men and women. Dyer's 50 rifle men were ordered to march to a bank ad to point and shoot the people gathered for the festival. Army men were ordered to kill. Roughly 1000 people killed, and over 1500 wounded.     Joseph Stalin was titled General Secretary of the communist party in 1922, with exceptions. One being Lenin was still in partial power and had a large amount of followers. After Lenin's death Stalin was able to consolidate power and soon became not just secretary but communist leader. Under His rule socialism in one country became a major focus.     Joseph Stalin's five year plan was a method planing economic growth, by developing heavy industry and arrangement of agriculture with the use of quotas. The plan was set out to Strengthen the Soviet Union, by making it more self-sufficient. This plan improved the USSR at the expense of consumer goods. The first Five Year Plan officially ended in 1932, being followed up with the second plan which basically just continued off of where the first plan left off, strengthening it more. ( infoplease)

    The non Aggression Pact, was like a treaty between the soviet Union, and the Nazi Germans in which the two countries promised to make no war or conflict in battle toward each other for the next ten years.     Joseph granted North Korea the permission to invade South Korea, starting the Korean war, between the Soviet Union With North Korea, against South Korea, and the United States. South Korea lost many men in battle, and the United States after helping Stalin and his followers in World War 2 felt betrayed by him.
