King Jayavarman II was the founder of the Khmer empire-Capital: hariharalaya. He was also crowned as Holy Roman Emperor on the 25th December, 800.

Alfred the Great (871-899)

Alfred the Great was part of when Iceland was colonised in 870. Also he defeats and has a victory against the vikings at the Battle of Eddington

King Jayavarman V (968-1000)

King Jayavarman V consolidated Rajendravarman's conquests. Also during this time the Vikings explored all of Greenland and Canada.

Suryavarman I (1002-1049)

King Suryavarman I had powers over South Klheang, PreahVihear, WatPhu, etc. He also expanded Khmer control over central and southwest Thailand and established Khmer centre at Lopburi.

Udayadityavarman II (1050-1066)

Udayadityavarman II Started West Minster Abbey at 1052. Also he started St Mark's Venice at 1063. Plus he started the Norman Conquest at 1066!

Suryavarman II (1113- 1150)

King Suryavarman II re-established relations with China; fought the Dai Veit and Chams. Cham polities made vassals of Angkor. Also Oxford University was founded 1117 and Paris University was founded 1150.

King Jayavarman VII (1181-1220)

King Jayavarman VII conquers the Cham expanding empire to the greatest size. the 3rd crusade occurred during 1189- 1192 and then the Magna Carta occurred 1215.

Thai Army

In 1431, the Thai Army attacked the Angkor. In 1432, Khmer's abandoned the Angkor. Over subsequent centuries, the jungle grows around and over the Angkor and its location is forgotten by everyone.
