The Juvenile Law Center asks the Supreme Court to conduct an investigation on the number of juveniles appearing without counsel before Judge Mark Ciaveralla Jr., the Luzerne County Judge. -
The Judge Resigns
A little less than a month after the Supreme Court's investigation, Ciaveralla removes himself from juvenile court duties and admits he failed to inform juveniles of their right to counsel. -
The Cash
Prosecutors announce that Ciaveralla will plead guilty to taking in $2.8 million from people from profit juvenile detention centers. He is removed from all judicial duties. -
Another Review
Berks County Judge Arthur Grim is ordered by the Supreme Court to conduct a review of Ciaveralla's cases. -

A branch is introduced in the General Assembly on Juvenile Justice to investigate the kids for cash scandal. -
Judge Grim
After Judge Grim's investigation of Ciaveralla's cases, he recommends that all of his juvenile court cases be vacated from 2003-2008. -

After a long trial, Ciaveralla is found guilty and is convicted and sentenced to 28 years in prison. -
