    Washington D.C., at Fords theatre actor John Wilkes Booth shot Abarham Lincoln. John escaped the scene jumping out of the back door, while a doctor examined President Lincoln. He was rushed to the Petersen Boarding House where he died the next morning.

    At the time of 1868 it was a stuggle to reconstruct a nation" torn by war" They believed that voiting rights for freed blacks was a huge problem then not all states allowed it thought. So the writers for this ammendment created 3 attatchements, 1. Prohibit states from denying the law, 2. Prevents states from denying the vote to anyone, 3. All male citizens over 21 had the right to vote. Congress passed the full version Fweb 26, 1869.

    1889 Jane and her friend Ellen Gates rented a mansion that once belonged to Charles Hull. One the intentions of the Hull house was to bring hope into immigrants lifes. The Hull house provided, Day care, Kindergarten, Boys club, and later a coffee shop for adultst o socialize.

    Homer Plessy a man mixed with white and black with a white image, purchased a first class ticket and sat in a white only car, he was put in court for breaking a Louisiana law passed in 1890 "providing for separate railway carriages for the white and colored races." John Ferguson argued that the segregation law violated the 14th amendment. In the end,the case gave a "constitutional nod" to racial segregation in public places".

    March 25, 1911 In NewYork 145 workers were burnt and killed. The lack of saftey in the shops brought new laws for the dangerous conditions in sweat shop factories.
