Buying a new computer
I plan to buy a new computer for 1000. I will accomplish this by saving $50 on my paycheck everymonth, finding a new job, cutting back on expenses, and riding a bike as my main mode of transportation. It will take me roughly 4 months in order to reach my goal. The opportunity cost of buying a new computer is higher than the opportunity cost of using that money to buy luxery goods. -
Saving money after job
I will save 50$ from my monthy pay check at my job. This money will be used to fund my purchase. -
Shopping
I will shop parsimoniously; I will only buy clothes at thrift shops. Additionally, I wont eat out very often, at best I will eat out once a month. I will also eat cheaper meals, such as frozen foods or ramen noodles. -
Bike
Instead of driving or taking public transportation, I will instead bike to get around. This will save gas money and trasnportation fees. I will also get up earlier to make up for the time lost biking to work. -
Going out with friends
When I go out with friends, I will spend frugually. I wont buy anything expensive. The money saved will be saved for the computer.
